Wellcome Trust Visit to Country

This visit was supported by the Wellcome-funded EHPC (Extreme Heat and Pregnancy Complications) study, but its true significance lies in an invitation from the HEAL WA Aboriginal Steering Group to come on Country. The visit created space for cultural immersion and opened important conversations about placing Indigenous knowledge and priorities at the centre of climate and health work—both in Australia and globally.

Seeing a global funder engage directly with Elders, communities, organisations, and researchers has been powerful. It reflects growing momentum in rethinking what gets funded, how it’s funded, and why in the climate and health space. We’re proud to help drive and contribute to this important global conversation.
